INTRODUCTION
Heinrich Schliemann used his beliefs in a ’fiction’ book called The Iliad and The Odyssey by Home. Schliemann used these books as guides to assist with his discoveries. These books later on proved to have some historical truth in them.

Schliemann was fascinated by the story his dad had told him about the city of troy when he was a little boy. Schliemann said that this awoke the hunger in him to search for archaeological proof of the existence of the city of Troy, Tiryns and Mycenae. There are two main sources used to find and know about the Trojan wars, one of those sources are homer’s book the lliad witch was written in some time in the 8th century BCE. Where in this book he recounts 53 days during the final year of the ten years of conflict. The other mail source used is the archaeological site its self which is located in turkey, this is a big factor but Schliemann had to 9 layers before he could fine the city of Troy its self the real city of Troy was the 10th layer of city’s down.
BACKGROUND
Heinrich Schliemann was born at Neubukow in Mecklenburg on the 6th of January 1822; he died on December 26th 1890, after his surgery. In 1870 Schliemann began excavations at Hisarlik under the permit of Frank Caluert and Frank Caluter had obtained for him with the members of Caluert’s crew. Schliemann was the man who took it that one step further to prove the Trojan myth true and show that it has some historical truth in the myth. Heinrich Schliemann was a German merchant, world traveller and archaeologist. A man of enormous ability and personal determination, he combined a romantic enthuses and calculating abilities of a practical realist in his search for the historical sites of Homeric Greece. In 1844 Schliemann became a corresponding clerk and book keeper with H.B. SchrÖder and company. In 1846 Schliemann got sent to St. Petersburg as a commercial agent. In 1863 he gave up his Russian
