In the first section “The Lost Year,” signifies the struggle it is to keep up with the track of time. The character in the story sometimes wakes up to realize that he is still asleep and dreaming. “But before falling asleep he sees things,” this could show how the character might see all his dreams as a reality. The lost year begins when the character of the story could sometimes hear someone calling his name but can’t come to the understanding that it’s his name being called because he doesn’t remember his own name.
