Animal Abuse
Small steps to prevent Animal Abuse in Singapore
I would like to begin by asking how many of you own pets, how many of you actually care about how your pets feel? I am here today because I want to prevent animal abusing from reprobating and I am going to need your help.
Cruelty to animals is a disturbing problem that is ongoing today and is evident in many forms such as for entertainment and experimentation purposes. Animals are victims of cruelty in many ways and they feel excruciating pain, fear and terror. This fact cannot be disregarded.
A type of animal cruelty includes physical abuse, which is the intentional act that causes the animal pain, suffering or death. Second type of cruelty is the abusive behaviors where beating, burning, suffocating, mutilating and more happens on animals. These acts cause severe animal suffering and they often linked to a pattern of other violent acts within families and society. This is bad because abusers do not know it is wrong to abuse animals and animals are continuing living in fear and pain. Cruelty is cruelty and cannot be disguised, hence we must make the impossible possible by putting an immediate halt to this problem.
Ignoring this problem is akin to ignoring a ticking time bomb. Here are solutions we can do together to stop this issue. Firstly, there must be higher and more severe penalties for animal abusers. Stricter laws for offenders must also be passed. Secondly, we should make fully use of social media like the television, newspaper and radio to promote or spread awareness of animal abuse. Print media such as flyers, pamphlets and posters can be given out to the public. Lastly, one of the best solutions in order to stop the awful trend of animal cruelty is to teach a child from young on how to treat animals. Advantages from this solution are that children will know and understand that animals have feelings like we do, they deserve the same kind of justice and rights as us and when you teach your child

PETA came to one of the livestock shows and were trying to tell us what we were doing wrong, but in reality we were treating the animals with love and respect. I have participated in all of these events and have seen how the animals get treated. I believe there is nothing wrong with the way they get treated. Most animals actually get treated better than some humans do. There are many society practices that people believe are cruel to animals but are not. Rodeos, showing livestock, and factory farms do not show animal cruelty.…

Some of the most common forms of animal cruelty are: Animal testing and experimentation in laboratories, lack of owners care and attention, and using animals as a way of entertainment. Now, lets take a closer look at these three forms of animal cruelty.…

“The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing”-Albert Einstein. Abuse towards animals occurs when humans cause harm to animals intentionally or unintentionally. Animal Cruelty during the Victorian Era is similar to the present day because people beat animals as punishment. However in the present day more people are hoarding animals as a result of being emotionally troubled rather than having a criminal motive, and people have started to stand up against abusive behavior towards animals.…

We see animals every day. They are our pets, companions, and, to some, family. They are also our dinner, new jacket or bag, and the pain behind our household products. So when does it qualify as cruel, or even inhumane? What is animal cruelty? According to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) “Intentional cruelty, or abuse, is knowingly depriving an animal of food, water, socialization, or veterinary care. Maliciously torturing, maiming, or killing an animal.” Three major examples of animal cruelty today are found in the food industry, shelters, and testing facilities.…

Lab testing, caging and animal violence are all examples of the abuse. Animals are abused and mistreated when they are used for research experiments. They are thrown in small cages daily, fed poorly, tortured, and they go through all these events no one would ever want to go through. Chickens for example, are often trapped in such small cages that they can't even stand; they just sit there all day everyday laying eggs for the farmers. When the chickens can't lay any more eggs they are slaughtered and sold as food. Humans can be selfish creatures that lock up helpless animals, kill them and eat them. These scientists treat animals like trash, more and more animals after each one many of them die.…

Animal abusers are heartless people who don’t deserve to live life with their crimes unnoticed. Lisa Weisberg, senior vice president of government affairs for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says, "If you treat animal abuse as a $50 fine and a slap on the wrist, people won't take it very seriously” (Kenna 1). Charging the abusers only a small fine is just not strict enough. This form of punishment does not fit the crime or prevent it from happening again. American people need to recognize animal abuse as the serious crime that it is and the consequences of these actions. The United States should establish a national animal abuse registry in order to decrease acts of animal abuse.…

Animal cruelty can be anywhere and done by anyone. Many people think of animals, especially cats and dogs, as disposable. They get a puppy for the children for Christmas only to realize it is a lot of work that the children are not ready for. They forget to feed and water it, don 't take it for walks, and don 't take it outside to use the bathroom. The solution, abandon it or just take it to the humane society. They 'll get another when the kids are older. An animal that is used to being taken care of by humans cannot fend for itself when it is dumped. It slowly starves or gets attacked by other animals. Many people will shoot stray animals with bbs to chase them away from their property. The animal becomes hurt or aggressive…
