If you think about it zoos are sometimes the only reason a certain animal exists, for example the Red Wolf, Karner Blue Butterfly, and the California Carner were all saved from extinction by zoos! People love to come see animals at the zoo and with that many they get from customers a portion of it can be used for building habitats for animals close to extinction or high in value for poachers. Although some may argue that being in zoos captivates them but pretty much all the time the animals don't rebel. I think that having zoos help keep animals safe from certain outside forces that they stand no chance against like cars, weird weather conditions, and like I've been saying poachers.
The main reasons I think keeping animals
in zoos is right because of their safety. Certain animals are targets for poachers and the more we have the safer their species is. For example the Karner Blue Butterfly could've easily been eaten by a frog or hit by a car as silly as it seems this is the reason that animals are in zoos for entertainment but safety at the same time.Others may argue that keeping animals in zoos is wrong and that they need to be left in the wild which I agree with in certain scenarios like regular animals that are giant in population should not be kept in large numbers at the zoo because if their are huge numbers there is room for death whether it be for a epidemic in its species or hunting season. With animals in zoos everyone benefits, the animals get safety and security from outside forces, they get plenty of food, and there are no seasons that usually could possibly kill certain animals.
Having animals in zoos helps the zoo make more money from looking at the animals, buying merchandise, and buying food for either the animals or for you. Now you're probably wondering how this benefits to anyone or anything besides the zoo well it benefits to the animals living and a better experience for you. Now for the ones against zoos they probably won't come and probably hate the idea of buying anything at a zoo. Fortunately there are plenty of people that will, and with their help we can make zoos awesome for the animals and us! If people keep coming to the zoo (which is pretty likely considering that little kids love to go to the zoo and look at animals) then we'll be able to build more zoos or safe havens for certain species!
“Animals in zoos live longer than animals in the wild” this is saying something. If animals in zoos live longer than animals in the wild then zoos are obviously the right route! If you think about it for a while it really just takes a little common sense, there are no predators, they are all with their own species, and they'll work better together. If they are with their own species than would could go wrong? Now of course their are certain species that can't be kept together for example, Beta fish they will fight till the death and that's not what zoos want so with the money the get from customers they will work to fix it. With keeping rare or exotic species in zoos we are protecting them from predators, giving them a safe no worry environment to live in, and a much longer life span!
If we can keep animals from extinction by putting the in zoos then we can keep any animal safe from poachers, predators, starvation, and deadly weather. Zoos benefit in all different ways giving animals a much longer and fuller life, more money to save more animals and build better zoos or safe havens, and giving them complete security against outside dangers. Obviously zoos could be what saves super old relics of earth like crocodiles and alligators, now just imagine 100 years from now if we keep zoos the population of all the animals in zoos will rise allowing zoos to start letting them free and when that time comes everyone will benefit and hopefully be happy.
