The symbol of the Soviet Union is made up of a star, hammer, and a sickle, which represent communism and the working class. The symbol on the flag of the Animal Farm is made up of a hoof and a horn, which represent all animals being equal and Animalism. I selected these images to add to Orwell’s allegory in how the Animal Farm and the Soviet Union are so similar, especially in how their governments were transformed into dictatorships through their paranoid leaders.
