This is evidenced when the pigs take on the responsibility of turning Major’s speech into Animalism. The other animals in the farm automatically assume that the pigs are in charge, and put them in a leadership position. The pigs are also good at solving problems. They find creative ways to use equipment in the farm that were made for humans. The pigs deal with all of the issues that the regular animals cannot. Because of this, the animals start to think that the pigs are superior to them, creating a hierarchy and putting the pigs on top of it. After Snowball is kicked off of the farm the hierarchy increases even more. Napoleon is in charge of all of the decisions, making him the most powerful animal on the farm. He creates a raised platform towards the front of the room to show that the pigs were the leaders and had more power than the rest of the animals. He also has guard dogs protecting him and the other pigs so nobody thinks of questioning their motives or actions. The power thirsty pigs go to great lengths just to make sure that they are viewed as leaders, providing them with more power than the rest of the animals.
