Most people do understand that the treatment of animals is a problem at slaughterhouses, but not many people are informed that identical problems commonly arise at dairy farms as well. To begin, the way that cows naturally produce milk is by becoming pregnant, and only then are they able to lactate for ten months afterward. To remake this process, the farmers or workers take a machine and rape the cows with it. This not only an unnatural process, but it also proves to be cruel and disgusting. Although cows do not have the same social standards as humans, why do something to them that is considered illegal to us? Firstly, they don’t support the companies that slaughter, rape, and maltreat them. Additionally, by being Vegan or Vegetarian, those individuals express their passion and do the most they can to eliminate the cruel and inhumane acts that not only take place in slaughterhouses, but at farms as well. Because of these downright gruesome facts about the dairy and poultry industry, I previously made the decision to transition from a Vegetarian diet to a Vegan diet.
