The animal experiments make a big difference in the medical development to a large extent. However, some people believe that animal experiments are cruel and should be prohibited. In this essay, I will examine both ideas and provide my own view in this essay.
On the one hand, there are some ethical concerns about animal experiments. The researches on animals are based on human’s demands and cause pain and death to animals. For example, to test the effects of newly developed medicines, researcher might inject the virus or bacteria into animals’ bodies to. The opponents of these researches argue that animal experiments, despite contributing to medical improvement, neglect the animal rights and sufferings, even threaten their lives.
On the other hand, animal tests are helpful to relieve human pain and sufferings because they are utilized to confirm the effects of new medical products and prevent the bad effects of medication. Therefore, banning the animal experiments might not only reduce the safety of medication but also bring negative impact on people’s health and quality of lives. People who are supportive of animal tests may believe that human lives should be given priority and more respected. In addition to this, currently animal tests are undoubtedly the best way to benefit people’s health and longevity, as there are no other equally effective alternatives.
To conclude, I believe that animal experiments should not be banned because the benefits of animal experiments get the upper hand over the drawbacks. Moreover, we should make sure that human lives are a priority.
