The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly of Animal testing Animal testing is a touchy subject to many people. The idea of using animals for the gain of the human race is seen as immoral by some people, while on the other hand, some people see animal experimentation as an impactful part of the scientific field. Through animal testing there has been many discoveries that have highly influenced the medical field. In regards to animal testing, is it beneficial or is it an unnecessary act of cruelty?
Medical Field:
The experimentation on animals may be an iniquitous act to some people; conversely, some people might see it as a tool used to save many lives. Animal experimentation in the medical field has been useful in many ways. Scientists are able to take information learned from animals and make educated guesses about the human body’s functions and determine a person’s reaction to a drug. Moreover, sometimes in experiments in which animals are tested upon, there is not a world-changing discovery that changes the medical field and save thousands of people’s lives.
