When it comes to the topic of animal testing, most of us will readily agree that it is a debatable topic. Where this argument usually ends, however, is on the conversation if animal testing is necessary. Whereas some are convinced that using animals for testing has contributed to many lifesaving cures and treatments, others maintain that these animals are very different from humans and, therefore, make poor test subjects. My own view is these animals have produced many treatments, but not outcomes that are effective enough in the human body, therefore should not be using animals.…

In the 1930s, Hitler passed anticruelty laws against animals in Germany. This seems strange considering the way Hitler treated humans during World War II. Various life-saving procedures have been discovered and perfected by animal testing. “How would you feel if the one research project that may save your child’s life was priced out of existence because pound animals were banned from testing” (Rowan 93). Without animal testing, humans would have to face the negative effects drugs and products can have before being perfected for human use. Some think animal testing is cruel although the provides endless advances.…

Though many breakthroughs have been made as a result of animal experimentation, many of the drugs that have been approved after animal testing had to be subsequently withdrawn because of harmful side effects. In fact, most experiments done on animals that are nothing like human beings, such as rats and mice. This undermines the dispute that these experiments are a reliable guide to human reactions. Scientifically, as well as morally, most animal experimentation is to be rejected as the reaction of a mouse to a substance is no guide to human reactions. Each species has its own unique…
