Abstract
Many people have heard of the phrase animal testing but perhaps none of them actually know what it is or what it is involved with. Animal testing refers to experimentation, which is carried out on animals; it is used to ensure safety and effectiveness from medication to cosmetics. Many of the treatments we have today for serious diseases have come from animal research. Animal research is the use on non-human animals in research with the intent to determine the safety of substances for human use or consumption. It has been recorded that the use of animals in research has been going on as far back as the Greeks proven from their writings. Aristotle who lived in the 4th century BC was one of the first who put forth the idea of using animals for the purpose of scientific research. Several products and medications are first tested on animals for safety or to check the associated side effects of the products. It has been found that every year millions of different kinds of animals are used only for the purpose of experimentation, which is often a horrifying experience for the animals. Animal testing is banned in several countries; however, it is still found that many developed countries undertake this practice. Animal testing debate had two groups at loggerheads, one of which was in favor of this practice and other against it. While the debate surrounding this issue continues, the arguments that each of these two groups resort to have changed considerably. I’m pro animal testing due to my beliefs, which are that human beings should exploit animals but not harm them. Given below area some questions will describe the point of view of the two groups whether pro animal testing or against animal
