In the streets of Nepal, young and inocent girls and women are trafficked everyday. They are bought by people who lure them in to easy traps. When people from other countries hear about it, some would offer their help to us. But most of the time, we are forgotten by them and are no longer important to their lives. We, the women of Nepal were not getting any help from anyone, not even the government, so I had to make the first move to rescue of the unfortunate girls of Nepal. By saving the least unfortunate and advicing the other girls around the town, there might be a chance where the faith of the other Nepalise girls would not be as unfortunate.
Once the girls are rescued and have recovered, they are sent back to their parents, or if rejected by the family members, they are always welcomed back to stay at Maiti Nepal until they are old enough to find a home and work for a living. When staying in Maiti Nepal, they can learn to improve their cook and sewing or other living skills that can help them
My girls and I are being rejected by the society. But I can’t abandon as they have become the most important thing in my life. They are my strenght and source of determination. Looking at them just makes me even more determine to help the other girls out there in India, who are being trafficked. We shouldn’t say that these girls and women being sold are not our daughters so they arent our problem. How would you feel
