My case is called ‘The Landlady’, this case is proving that the landlady is guilty of murder. This lady has murdered a 17 year old boy named Billy Weaver, and has also murdered 2 other boy named Christopher Mulholland and Gregory Temple, who were also at the age 17. Billy’s branch manager noticed he had not come in for his job, so he sent me to investigate the lady who last saw Billy. The lady owns a bed and breakfast and offered Billy to stay there, but after that Billy went missing. I chose this case to find all information on how she killed Billy.…

When I peered over the edge of the Millikan Reflecting Pool, I had expected to be greeted with the image of a teenage girl. Instead, I found myself staring into a layer of stones and cement. A sign stood in place of the water, explaining that in light of the current drought, the pool had been drained so that Caltech could cut back on its water usage. Having exhausted every picture of Caltech I could get online and in viewbooks, I had been excited to see the beautiful Millikan Library and reflecting pool in person, but I was even more excited when I saw the dried-up pool—as an aspiring green engineer, I loved that Caltech was willing to sacrifice some of the campus's beauty to contribute to the statewide effort to conserve water. I knew then…

On the southwestern side of Florida, there lies a city called North Port. This city has the best PUDs, or Planned Unit Developments. In this city, there is a decently sized housing development called Cedar Grove. In this area, there is a two-story home whose body was painted the color of a deep mahogany, embroidered with white accents. It’s details such as the roof, garage, window panes, and front door ranging from dark browns to light. It was a corner lot house, mounted on a small hill causing the narrow but long driveway to incline. The grass that was always trimmed to perfection in every lawn, embraced it’s truest deepest greens along with the several oak and palmetto trees decorating the sides of the decent home. Even though I have moved several times, this place is significantly where I have had the most memories growing up.…
The Garden is a mythological archetype that is well known as one of the famous four archetypes. The Garden is a representation of peace and sanctuary, because of its holy essence. This archetype has been portrayed for many years as a place of sanctuary and solitude for the fact that there was a place needed for people of all kinds to live in peace. The word paradise is also used most commonly to describe the setting of The Garden, it is most commonly known as a place where there are no worries and in modern English it is mostly known as a paradise. The Garden is also usually portrayed as a safe haven usually created by God, or a higher being.…
I’m not the Indian you had in mind; a video that was written and directed by Thomas King challenges the stereotypical image that America has towards Native Americans. King is also the author of a short novel “A seat in the Garden”. This short story also challenges the established perspective that American society has towards the Native Americans. There are various stereotypes and perspectives that a majority of the public has toward a particular group. For example some of the common stereo types that are seen throughout the media are that all Asians are good at math, women are primarily sex objects, All Africans like fried chicken, and all Mexicans are gangsters. These stereo types are not completely true for an entire group, yet they can be for a part of it. There is living and walking proof of many of the minority groups subverting the dominant view.…
A yard like anything else that gets neglected, having no attention paid to it all winter. It’s dull, it lacks character. The grass is a muddy green. The flowers have all wilted and lost their form. Just like love when we neglect it. When were lonely we’re blue. We get that dull spirit about us like the world is falling in. Our heart is wilted and lost its plump shape. The weeds have taken over, not only the yard but our body as well.…

Apartments don’t have a yard. They don’t have open space; not like our old house did. It was quite the shock to a young outdoorsman…or woman…like me. A few months after moving into the apartment, our new house began to be built. My parents reassured me that our new yard would be big and that we’d still have a hill but when I saw it for the…
When a person has been made to feel humiliated and worthless, they will not rest until that nagging feeling in their heart has felt vengeance. This is the case in the short story The Parsley Garden written by William Saroyan. Saroyan demonstrates Al’s loss of honour through characterization and use of symbols.First, he feels as if he should walk back into the store he stole from and tell off the young man who had caught him or even try and steal the hammer again without getting caught. He then is offered money to pay for the hammer he was originally trying to steal. At last he felt he needed to take matters into his own hand and work for the hammer. Al discovers that there are many ways to find revenge, but very few leave a person truly satisfied.…
