“if you don’t know what to say to help someone in need. Sometimes, it can be just enough to take the time to listen and provide a supporting shoulder to lean on.” Said by David Cunliffe. Based on the Jib Fowles’ “advertisings fifteen basic appeals “each one of these appeals has an effective meaning in this world. Based on these fifteen appeals I have chosen the fourth appeal which is “the need for guidance”. This appeal has an amazing meaning in the context of the world we live in, but each one of us have a different explanation and meaning to it. In My opinion the meaning of this appeal is to help people understand themselves in terms of personal ability, interest, motivation and potential. The need for guidance is to be protected, shielded, guided. many people need for be guided and supported by others.…

The fascinating documentary, Devil’s Playground, is centered on a period called Rumspringa, which is a period of time when Amish youth, boys more than girls, experience greater freedom. They are no longer under the control of their parents on the weekends and, because they are not baptized, they are not yet under the authority of the church. During this time, many Amish youth adhere to traditional Amish behavior. Others, however, experiment with “worldly” activities (2014). The main question during Rumspringa is whether or not to be Amish.…

“Having travelled over a considerable portion of these Unites States, and having, in the course of my travels, taken the most accurate observations of things as they exist-the result of my observations has warranted the full and unshaken conviction, that we, (coloured people of these Unites States,) are the most degraded, wretched, and abject set of beings that ever lived since the world began; and I pray God that none like us ever may live again until time shall be no more.”, said by David Walker. Born a free African American man in North Carolina to a free mother and an enslaved father in 1785. In the document of David Walker, Preamble of Appeal to The Coloured Citizens of The World, it states that David writes a pamphlet about slavery and how the document spread all around the United States even with all the effort of…

English ISU Rough In times of war, death and darkness, sacrifice becomes the best method of moving into better times. For the men and women who see the sacrifices, they can go home to friends and family, they can go home to a nice dinner or go back to work like they used to and all is well. Unfortunately though, for those who make the sacrifices, they cannot. Instead they get to go home a broken mind, loss of self or just not go home at all.…

I am writing to appeal my current student aid suspension for the Fall 2013 semester. I understand that the release of financial aid to me is of concern of the college due to my GPA being a 1.7 overall and 1.43 for the Spring 2013 semester. However, I have taken the steps to remedy the errors on my academic transcript regarding the repeated classes. The severity of the lower grades on my transcript affected my acceptance into the College of Arts and Sciences and I was immediately informed of my dismissal.…

This letter is written in an attempt to appeal my academic suspension and grant me another chance to receive financial aid to allow me to continue my education towards my degree in nursing. On May 6, 2012 I faxed over my appeal to financial aid for the fall 2012 semester at Capital Community College which was denied. During the 2010- 2011 school year my grades were poor and I received a letter by mail stating that I was dismissed due to my academic progress & a low GPA. The cause is no less than my own fault, but I believe the circumstances I faced led my focus away from my education.…

I, Kourtney Brooks, am writing to you in hopes that the decision of me being ineligible for financial aid due to not maintaining a cumulative GPA of 2.0 can be appealed due to extenuating circumstances. Entering into the spring semester, due to my performance in the Fall I knew there was a lot of work to be done. In the Fall, after being out of college for a few years I had to get acclimated to working and going to school full time, not to mention online schooling, which is something I hadn’t experienced before, but due to having to work to take care of myself I made the decision to try it because I know in order to truly excel in life I have to further my education. Nonetheless, I went into the spring semester a stronger student due to the mistakes in the semester that instilled the strength and…

My name is -------- and I am writing to appeal my suspension from financial aid. I hope that you will reconsider your decision and grant my financial aid. I would like to begin thanking you in advance for taking the time to read this letter and consider my request to reinstate my financial aid at Metropolitan State University at Denver. I admit, I took so many credit hours in college, but I would like to explain the reason. As Spanish person, and because I speak English as a second language, I had to take ESL(English as a Second Language) classes for my first two years (four semesters) at CCD (Community College of Denver). The ESL program was not something that I had chosen, but something that I had to get done in order to follow my general education. I did not mean to spent so much time in college and take so many credit hours, but I did not have other options.…

I am writing to appeal my current student aid suspension for the Fall 2012 semester. I understand that the release of financial aid to me is of concern of the college due to my GPA. However, I have taken the steps to complete six credit hours this summer, under my own financial responsibility (which I am still in the process of paying off), and received excellent grades for both classes. After sustaining the financial strain of paying for these courses, it will be impossible for me to finance my education on my own this semester with the current financial obligations I already face.…
