Tangible Resources * Apple.inc continues innovates several new products offering such as the iPod, iMac, iBook and also PowerBook. * Apple Inc. introduced the PowerMac G4 Cube that designed in a novel form and style. It is for those who did not want the monitor included with the computer. * Apple began marketing personal computer in general public, producing the specially designed computer for education that includes with application for learning called “ eMac ”. * Apple Inc. customizing their keyboards, mice, and other accessories. * Apple Inc. produces their own software and other hardware that are designed to coordinate with the CPUs and monitors.

Intangible Resources * Apple Inc. produces new software such as iTunes, iDVD, iPhoto, iMovie. * Apple Inc. developed software application that encourage digital creativity * Apple’s switcher campaign by promoting the ease of use of apple’s product. * Apple also develops one of the leading media players, QuickTime. QuickTime is available for digital media technology used on the internet. * Provide AppleWorks office suites with the purchase of Apple Hardware. * Create a new version of operating system (OS) called Mac OS X and it also includes the applications that provide improved e-mail, calendar, and synchronization. * Apple developed online configuration program for resellers to lessen the direct competition created by the builder-to-order model.

    Apple offered complete desktop solutions, computers and peripherals which were easy to use in nature and this simplicity demanded a premium. Mac peripherals were “plug and play” whereas IBM peripherals were difficult to use since users had to have compatible hardware and software to make things work. Apple’s simplicity gave it a head start early on but quickly became an issue as IBM computer prices dropped and Macs became overpriced by comparison; Apple also had trouble lowering the cost of its products so it couldn’t compete on price. Apple fell further behind by designing its OS around the PowerPC microprocessor chip which was slower than Intel chip at the time so from the consumer perspective Apple computers were more expensive and slower than IBM computers. Apple could have caught up to PC’s with its secret project to rework its OS to run on Intel chips but the project was killed when Spindler took the helm of Apple. On product selection, since IBM’s and PC’s allowed independent vendors to produce products for its computers the number of peripherals and complementary products available to the consumer far outnumbered the product selection that was available for the Mac. To make things worse, peripherals and complementary products for IBM and PC were priced lower than those available for the Mac. Ultimately, Apple did not offer much value in the hardware category for its customers, Mac products were slower, more expensive and had a smaller selection.…

    While attempting to summit the unconquered crest of Parascotopetl, a mountain in Ecuador, Nunez falls down the far side of the mountain. At the end of his descent, he finds a valley cut off from the rest of the world. He has discovered the fabled Country of the Blind. The valley had been a haven for settlers escaping from the tyranny of Spanish rulers until an earthquake redesigned the surrounding mountains and cut it off forever from future explorers. The isolated community prospered over the years despite a disease that struck them early on, rendering all new-borns blind. As the blindness slowly spread over the generations, their remaining senses sharpened, and by the time the last sighted villager had died, the community had fully adapted to life without sight. Nunez descends into the valley and finds an unusual village with windowless houses and a network of paths. He realises that he can teach and rule them. But the villagers have no concept of sight and do not understand his attempts to explain this fifth sense to them. Nunez becomes angry but they calm him and he submits to their way of life because returning to the outside world is impossible. Nunez is assigned to work for a villager named Yacob, and becomes attracted to Yacob's youngest daughter, Medina-Saroté. Nunez slowly starts trying to explain sight to her. Medina-Saroté, however, simply dismisses it as his imagination. When Nunez asks to marry, the village elders refuse him because of his obsession with "sight". The village doctor suggests that Nunez's eyes be removed, claiming that they are diseased and are affecting his brain.
