In a harmonious, and fragile co-existence that these animals thrive on, there is much that could tip the scales of balance and send the community into chaos. In the movie, The Lion King, antelope, gazelles, and zebras were consumed at a pace that ruined the cycle of life. All the prey was driven away by the erratic hyenas and starving lions. Their ecosystem became barren, empty and almost uninhabitable. In another example, Timon and Pumbaa introduced Simba, a non-native species, to the jungle. There, Simba adaptes quickly, surviving on insects and no meat, leaving his niche as Lion King in the Pride Lands. If, in reality, all the gazelles and antelope were all eaten and unable to reproduce at the same pace in which they were being hunted by hungry lions and hyenas, they would move onto the next available herbivore. All the while lions and hyenas are competing, fighting for the same resources.
