1.0) Introduction of the article
In July 2001, The National Patient safety (NPSA) was created as a Special Health Authority. Based on the NPSA appraisal policy, they defines appraisal as the process of evaluating the activities of the NPSA to determine which records need to be captured and how long the records need to be kept to meet the NPSA’s business needs and those of its stakeholders and to provide accountability for the NPSA’s actions (NPSA,2004b). In addition, because of the lies at the heart of the NPSA scheduling process of appraisal, it provides the framework for making decisions on the disposition and retention of records.
