Abstract
A Descriptive Study of Aptitude and Skills of Senior Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM) Students of Pambayang Dalubhasaan ngMarilao and the Identified Career Opportunities in Hospitality Industry was conducted to meet its goals as follows: To find the level of aptitude of senior HRM students pertaining to their grades in the subject areas that they already took; find the level of their skills in terms of Front Office skills, Food and Beverage Skills, Bar skills, Quantity Food Skills and Housekeeping skills; identify the career opportunities in the Hospitality Industry. This study was conducted in Pambayang Dalubhasaan ngMarilao wherein the instruments used were questionnaires for the skills of the participants which were validated by the program director, and the secondhand data, the participants’ grades, to measure the participant’s aptitude which were gathered and authorized from the registrar’s officefor collecting data, and the collected pertinent information were statistically analyzed using the descriptive method, weighted mean and frequency. The result of the participant’s level of Aptitude in specific subject areas are all average except Food and Beverage Management which had Above Average. The skills are all Above Average. Identified career opportunities in Bar are Waiter, waitress and bartenders; in Front Office, receptionist and information clerk; in Food and Beverages, service crew;under Food Preparation; cooks and lastly, in Housekeeping, cleaners in hotels and other establishments.
