are bullies criminals
Bullies Should Be Tried As Criminals All over the United States today children are being bullied, but the question is what to do about it. I think bullies should be tried as criminals because the number of children taking there lives today is incredible, they also aren’t learning from there actions, that just because the bully has a bad life doesn’t mean that they have to take it out on someone else. Most schools and parents are now learning the different ways children bully and that it actually hurts the child. Studies show that 17% of students under grade 12 get bullied at least once a week; the decision is how we handle that. The number of lives taken everyday because of someone being bullied has increased by 15% in the past two years. No one should ever feel that selfless that they take there own life. A victim of bullying is twice as likely to take his or her own life compared to someone who is not a victim. An act like this is basically murder, making someone else take their own life because of someone else actions. A lot of children harm themselves because of how the bully makes them feel, some acts are self persecution and starving themselves and under going surgery to make them look different so they won’t get bullied. Some bullies are even your “friends” and kids are too afraid to stand up to them. They’re scared of what might happen next, the bully has all control over the victim. They should be tried as a criminal for making someone do that to them selves. A lot of children have a bad home life and feel the need to take it out on someone else. It does not give them the right to do that to someone else. Just because they have a bad day doesn’t mean they have to make someone else pay for it. A lot of children feel the need to make others understand the pain and hurt they are going through. The bruises and the mental abuse that children are going through is not fair to them, they don’t deserve to be treated like that. Not all bullying is physical

We need to confront the bully because people can be driven to make some terrible choices. For example, take the Columbine shooting massacre for instance, “the young gunmen attributed their acts to retaliation for years of taunting that they said friends and relatives had inflicted on them..” (PERSONAL HEALTH; A Bully’s Future, From Hard Life to Hard Time). After being bullied for so long, they made a bad choice that went down in history. School should be a safe environment for kids and they pushed to the edge to harm people to get back at the bullies. Bullies can make the victim harm themselves or worse. According to the CDC, there are about 4,400 deaths per year from suicide. For every suicide, there are about 100 attempts. Imagine knowing a bully pushed someone over the edge enough to…

There has been a progression of bullying happening as many may have noticed, in order to be able to get the bullying to stop or to even calm down someone needs to step up and have a talk, or needs to discipline the bullies. Walking down hallways at school, people say mean words, they do not think of other people's feelings as they say the cruel words coming out of their mouths. Mostly, the reasons being why children, and young adults are usually bullying someone may be because they were not disciplined enough as a child, their parents may have not been around to do so, or they may have a rough life at home. The reasoning trying to be stated is the bullying comes from selfish people. A person can tell if somebody else is selfish or not because selfish people tend to block out what others are feeling around them, how their days went, and/or what is going on in their lives. Selfish people do not care about anyone else except for themselves. A selfish person could see somebody with nothing to their name and still not help them because they do not want to do anything for anybody else. Everyone may have a friend or a family member who they may think is a selfish person, as many people may know a person that is selfish do not be afraid to stand up to them and knock them down and tell them what they are doing is wrong. Selfish people are everywhere in todayś society and they do not care if…

Bullying, an unfortunate but seemingly common human activity, has scattered itself through societies since the beginning of time. Today we experience the overwhelming attention bullying has garnered. With attention come questions. Is this attention warranted or exaggerated? Why? Many believe this attention is exaggerated but considering the cause and effect of bullying, the attention is definitely warranted and not exaggerated. On another note, taking action towards young children/adults accused of bullying as a crime is not appropriate. The attention for bullying is warranted because of the tragic effects and it’s continued widespread through technology, but that doesn’t mean these young, innocent children should be punished as criminals due to their youth and level of maturity.…

W.E Jacobs and Maureen McMahon in their article “Counterpoint: School Children Should Learn to Defend Themselves against Bullies” from the Points of Reference Center expresses why they believe that children should be able to defend themselves from bullies. Jacobs and McMahon argue that bullying is everywhere and has two aspects which is the victim that is supposed to act a certain way to the bully and the bully who shows the aggression. Most of the bullying going on now a days has to do with children, mostly in schools or on social networking. Many people do want to stop this such as teachers and parents but they are unable to because it doesn’t happen around them (Jacobs and McMahon np).…

Bullying has become an epidemic, and it needs to come to an end. If people will stand up for each other and protect each other, I believe bullying would cease to be effective. It preys on those who do not have the confidence to defend themselves. Often times, the bully hurts others as a way of protecting himself. He believes that if he attacks others, then they will not know he himself is hurting, or has been hurt in the past. It becomes a coping mechanism for him. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that bullying should not be responded to with more violence. They need to be shown love, but firm love. A love that says, “I love you enough to not let you continue down this path. Let me show you another way.” Then you are not only l protecting those that the bully hurts, but also you are protecting the bully himself in the long run.…

It is hard to ignore the fact that most bullying goes unnoticed or unreported in schools, a place where adults are constantly present. With the exposure bullying has gotten in recent years people would think that schools have sophisticated methods of dealing with bullying, however this is not the case in most schools. Bullies expect that people treat them with respect, but they do not show that to anyone! Bullying is taking over schools, and it needs to be controlled.…
