Argument on Getting School Essays
It's the first day of school and you have to find the perfect outfit to make a good impression. Instead of tearing through your closet, making a huge mess, you can just grab your uniform and be off. You don’t have to worry about making a good first impression because everyone looks the same. Uniforms would be a beneficial addition to Lafayette School.
To start off, in school, most middle school students are bullied because of what they are wearing. If everyone has the same clothing, bullying wouldn’t occur as much as it would without uniforms. With uniforms, there's no discrimination because of what you're wearing. People get bullied in schools because they do not have to fit in and buy the newest hottest cloths. Also, since everyone looks the same in uniforms, you would sound idiotic if you tried making fun of someone because of their clothing; because you are wearing the same thing. Next, peer pressure would be eliminated while trying to learn. Uniforms will limit the amount of bullying that goes on in our school.
They may not fix everything but it does help, most schools with uniforms have better academic scores. It is proven that schools with uniforms have better academic scores for a couple reasons. First, if we had uniforms you wouldn’t be fidgeting with your belt, or t-shirt while the teacher is teaching. You would be focusing on the teacher, and paying closer attention to what you are learning. Also, with uniforms on you look more professional. It is a fact that the more professional dressed you look, the more you pay attention. Paying attention can help your grades by a lot. If Lafayette gets uniforms, our overall grades will improve.
The most important factor is getting uniforms is saving money. Money also plays a big part in the clothing we wear. Not all styles are affordable. Students are made fun of because they can't afford "in" clothing. It isn’t the person’s fault that they can’t afford the “now” clothes. Maybe there is a family issue at home,

"Just slapping clothes on kids won't improve a school, but uniforms accompanied by other reforms can make a difference. Uniforms send a message and remind students that they are in school. One element of the message is that when you are going to school, that is your place of work. That is the place where you are working at getting smart." ~Joe Palumbo. Uniforms cause children to be more civilized and mature in what they are doing. It could lead the kids to a greater future and teach them to be more proper. Many students feel that with uniforms they will not be recognized as individuals. Students often feel that their wardrobes define who they are as people. Even though school uniforms do take away a person 's right to show his or her individuality through clothing, the advantages certainly outweigh the disadvantages in this case. Students would probably be more accepting of the idea of school uniforms if a more casual style of uniform were adopted than a formal traditional style (Kelly).…

This would limit distractions in the classroom, producing a better teaching and learning zone. Also, school uniforms would make for a better student teacher relationship because everyone would be looked at as an equal. Another distraction uniforms could remove is the problem with females wearing reveling clothing. Lastly, a majority of students can take up thirty minutes picking out there clothes for the next day. Uniforms would create a more unified environment. Students would not be able to wear clothing that may offend other cultures, religions or people. Instead, students would have to wear the same thing which may give the children a sense of acceptance. “Clothes are a source of expression for children, and as kids get older, they become increasingly resentful of uniform by instituting a uniform policy, schools are taking away from kids’ individuality schools need to decide if that sacrifice is worth making.”- Dr. Alan Hilfer. To me the author of this quote meant that is the sacrifice of looking alike instead of individuality really worth the payoff in the long run. A survey done by David L. Brunsma from the University of Alabama said uniforms didn't make the students any more prepared than students who don't wear uniform and schools with uniforms test scores were not higher than those without uniform. The way you dress is an essential to their upbringings as they learn things about themselves. Schools who do not encourage uniform is a place that students would actually want to attend.…

If public schools have uniforms it would considerately reduce the prevailing disparagement and bullying of students on basis of apparel . There would be no bias because all students would look equal. It would increase the affinity among the students to a great extent .The envy among students would reduce as they would no longer eye each other .The race to wear the best apparel would come to an end. For example,at a public school if a teen is wearing $150 sneakers, it creates a complex among other students and they also try to dress up the same way and start comparing themselves with that boy. If the other individual comparing himself with that boy is not financially capable as that boy, he gets stressed and depressed.…

School uniforms in today’s society “promote school safety and enhance the learning environment, and diminish the clothing completion” As said by Marsha Boutelle. School uniforms unify a school and help the blending of the school cultures, instead of massive polarization among students. Of course student who could not wear uniforms due to religious reasons or other appropriate reasons could sign out doing so along with parent permission. Along with School uniforms we see a boost in academic performance. With the United States dropping behind other developed nation ranking in at number 18 of 24. (Wu, Elaine) this is low for a nation that is spending a lot on education every year. Kids are losing focus on school and are competing for what the newest fashion or gadget rather than focusing on school these days. With the addition of school uniforms in American society kids can focus more on their classes rather than social factors that students focus on when there is no school uniform and the dress code is not strict. With the addition of school uniforms in public schools you can see students bonding together helping students feel like they are accepted and part of a much bigger picture than just them. Also the boost in academics helps out everywhere with helping students get into universities of their choice rather than just a university that excepts them and helps them get scholarships, which a lot have a GPA requirement, that must be met in order to qualify or to continue receiving. This…

First of all, the reason why I think school uniforms would help is because it can deter crime and increase safety. One way it would deter crime is by being able to identify the person causing trouble by their uniform. The reason they would be able to identify them is by their uniform showing where they go to school. Another way it would help increase the safety on campus. It would help easily identify the people that are not supposed to be there by teachers and administration. There are proven statistics…
