Designer babies refer to babies that have been genetically modified. You are able to choose exactly what their characteristics are. This practice should not be allowed anywhere, due to the cost of the process, termination of embryos and what people think the definition of perfect is.
Firstly, there is already a process that you can go through as an adult to choose the gender of your baby, which costs a massive $19,000. Depending on what state you live in the prices for a genetically modified baby varies but the average price is around $180,000. It is appalling that a parent could actually spend this much of their hard earned money on a child, which most couples make for free.

Not everything these days needs to be about how attractive or how ugly someone is. Some adults are unable to have children because of certain reasons, and they would do anything to have their own precious child and there are still people out there that don’t care about anything apart from the characteristics of their child. People seem to think that if someone is attractive and smart they are going to have a better personality, but that is completely false. If your child is unfortunately born with a disability, you aren’t able to do a thing about it. You just need to realise that they are no different to anyone else on the inside and still love them for who they are. People who agree with designer babies say that it is going to give the kids a big head start in life, as they are going to look better and are going to be really smart. Personally I think that these people need to grow a heart and have some respect for people. If someone has the confidence to go out and apply for a job they should have the exact same opportunities as a genetically modified
