I think that the drinking age is too high. Most other countries drinking age is anywhere from 16 to 18, and they do not really seem to have a problem with it. My thing is how whenever you turn 18 everybody considers you an adult, but you cannot even go to a bar and buy a beer for yourself. With our drinking age being 21, it is basically saying that they still consider a person from the age of 18 to 20 still a kid. If a person is technically considered an adult, then what is the big deal with them drinking or buy alcohol. Some people will say that they are not adults yet, because there brain is still developing and other thing like that and that they are still kids, but if that's the case then why would they be allowed to join the military then. At 18 years of age a person is allowed to join the armed forces, but not legally allowed to drink any type of alcoholic beverage. Just think about that for a second. People are also allowed to legally give out their consent for sex, buy lottery tickets, and buy tobacco products when they turn 18 as well. Someone who can legally join the military, have sex, gamble, and contribute to them selves possible getting lung cancer and other health problems, cannot buy or drink alcohol legally. Which one of those things seems the worst to you? This is saying that a person is technically an adult, but they legally at least, cannot do everything adults are allowed to do. Also at the age of 18 a person’s record is cleared and they are able to be tried as an adult.Again, how is a person able to be tried as an adult, but cannot even drink? That is just mind blowing to me. If they do not change the drinking age, they should at least clear your record at 21 instead of 18, because a person is still able to get underage drinking charges and things like that before the age of
