Latinos dream of getting that higher education and an advanced degree thinking that there is a promise for a higher paying jobs. But since when did a high education with a degree actually promise such a thing? The pay of a person does sometimes depend on the the type of education they have but what if there was another key factor. Hispanic students who strive to complete college and get that degree are being bombarded with so many obstacles from society. Is paying such expensive costs really helping the latino student in the long run or is it not? Latinos who have that higher education and receive advanced degrees are earning less than a caucasian person. The education right of latinos is greatly endangered by college and the degrees received that continue to fail latinos by not helping them because of the racial and ethnic wealth gap that has been there forever and won’t go away anytime soon.
The problem with colleges is that they pretend to ignore the race and ethnicity of students but there’s always something to separate Latinos from all the others. The college education is supposed to narrow that gap between latinos and other students. But the college …show more content…
A latino can have a better education than a caucasian person but somehow not be considered at all. Colleges giving the degrees never really promised the high paying jobs but they could’ve prepared the latinos better and rather than making the wealth gap bigger they could’ve made it smaller. The hispanics who strived for the best are being let down by colleges. The cost of college is really expensive and to pay all of that just to be let down greatly is really heart breaking. The education rights of latinos have to be protected. That wealth gap between white people and minorities needs to be erased in order for the latinos to have fair game in the job
