Has someone ever tried to change your opinion because they would gain from it? Have they ever tried to make you like them because it made them comfortable? It’s pretty rude, but countries do it all the time to other countries. This is what imperialism is like. Imperialism is the policy of one country’s political, economic, or cultural domination over other lands or territories. There are five motives for why people used imperialism- economic, exploratory ethnocentric, political, and religious reasons. Countries imperialized other countries so they could gain money and spread their cultural, religious, and political views to the world.
