Argumentative Essay On Morality In Sports

Morality is a very interesting and sometimes a very difficult topic. I believe that everybody has a different vision about “morality”. Can we determine from right and wrong? Or live, culture, religion and social standards are influences on how we perceive morality? As a society, we should have a set of standards and regulations that should help us live happily and make us better as human beings in this world we live in. There are instances, everyone beliefs are different, and the standards an the awareness of the world. It leads to diverse opinions and not everyone will agree with my position. I usually took right and wrong to be founded on my own code of conduct and the principal that made something right or wrong depended from the person’s intentions.

Is it still moral if many other professional athletes take it and in order to be competitive and successful? I will support my argument with several examples and name some of the athletes: a cyclist Lance Armstrong, a bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger and a baseball player Jose Canseco who had publicly confessed to the usage of performance enhancing substances. Is it sill moral and fair when most of the competition uses them in order to improve and accomplish their dreams and desires? Is that fair for the other athletes than are clean and follow the strict regulations? Is it fair to us spectators? Many people, including me, feel cheated and believe that these athletes would not be able to have the same results without taking any performance enhancing substances.
