Steroid Argumentative Essay
These “performance enhancing drugs” are thought to be cheating in the athletic playing field. That’s dumb. I say let them juice up as much as they want! I mean there are a lot of pros and cons on whether or not professional athletes or anyone else in that case should use steroids but I'm here to shed some light on the subject. First of all there are many reasons that steroids should be legal in professional sports and I'm here to tell you why. The first one that I am going to talk about is injuries, steroids could very well help athletes recover faster especially the greats. For example Bo Jackson, after his hip injury his career was over but he just decided to quit but with the help of steroids he could of came back and would of been the first person to be in the hall of fame for two sports. He was a physical phenomenon the man ran a 4.12 40-yard dash ,in hand time thought, In the NFL they do not count hand times to that is up in the air for as far as a record goes.
Another reason is just for the pure entertainment aspect of it because i'm sure watching Mark McGwire hit the most home runs in a season was pretty entertaining. With him hitting 70 home runs in a season people thought he was a god amongst men until he came clean about his steroid use in an ESPN interview. steroids should be treated as like protein powders as in you could use it if you like but you don't have too and it won't go against you. Another person is Barry Bonds,hitting a 538 foot home run pretty amazing considering centerfield wall is 400 feet from home plate. Wouldn't you like to see both of these amazing feats happen on the daily.
Some people think that steroids give players an unfair advantage on the playing field, I think that steroids should be legal in professional sports so it can ¨even the playing field’ and they can choose if they want to pursue that or not.
Because I don't know about you but me I want my sports in real life to be like sports in video games i want people to be running 4 second flat 40 yard dashes or people kicking 100 yard field goals or even dunking from the 3-point line in a game not just the dunk contest, the game. Even the Olympics would be better with people running a 8 second 100 meter dash or someone throwing a shot put over 80
feet.
