Students should not have homework because it can cause stress, depression, and may affect a child’s grades. Having the added pressure of completing homework every night is quite daunting for most children. As a result, children tend to fight or argue about having to do this overwhelming task. Also, some children who spend hours completing homework may feel like it doesn’t help him or her academically. With the common core standard it’s not only difficult for students but teachers too. For instance, teachers have to make sure their week is planned and their lesson is to standard with what is being taught. Therefore, teachers should not have to worry about assigning homework or having to worry about which student did their homework and which student did not. Teachers have a difficult job especially making sure each student understands the curriculum. Not to mention, teachers do not get to spend a lot of time with their families due to all the work and stress they go through just to prepare for instructing.
