Homework does not serve a purpose. Kids go to school to learn things. We learn for eight solid hours, and come home to do more work. Some people say that you do it for practice, but if we learn it, then we know it. It seems as if teachers give homework, just to give homework. Most teens are included in a sport or activity out of school they participate in. Trying to juggle school work, activities, and trying to spend time with your family does not exactly work. It is very hard to participate in any out of school activity, be able to keep your grades high and always have your homework.
Teens should get at least eight full hours of sleep. That is not the case for teens who are included in a variety of activities anywhere from sports to church activities. You generally get home pretty late, and you barely have any time to work on your homework and study for tests. Homework can cause kids to stay up way later than what they should. This can also cause bad sleeping habits.
As you get older, you become more social, but it is harder to keep up with school work at the same time. Your friends and family feel nonexistent to you because you are so caught up in your work and sports such as basketball or ballet. Getting older also means having more homework. Homework means time, which most teens do not quite have. Teachers should clue in that teens have a life out of school
