Does Homework Help Students At All Essay
Does homework help students at all? Does it actually help the students get smarter and be more educated? It has been proven that homework does not help or make a difference at all to the students. It must be really surprising but it's the truth homework doesn't give the students any benefit. Homework would just exhaust the students more. There are so many reasons why homework doesn’t help the students. Students stay up late at night trying to finish their homeworks. They spent hours doing their homework. Their time is pretty much being restrained from doing other things. It has been proven that 80 percent of the students in high school work a part time job. With all the homework that these teachers give these students have little to no free time at all. They wouldn’t be able to relax or enjoy their day. But instead they are cramming and rushing to finish their homework on time in order for them to make it to work on time.
Another reason why homework is bad for students is that they get little to no sleep at all. When teachers assign homework to students to take home,

Some students don’t know what to do when the teacher assign their homework. They don’t know what to do because when the teachers assign them homework the night before to do, they spent all night doing it. Then the next day at school they are way too tired to process any work and lesson the teachers are teaching. They would just fall asleep and pay less attention. That causes the student to not know what to do and they just write down random answers. Then when they turn it in the teachers mark it wrong and give them a bad grade. Eventually with all these bad grades in their file it will bring their grades down a lot. This would just give more stress to the students and drain their energy. An average person should be getting about seven to eight hours of sleep a night not two or three

High school students are required to attend seven hours of school, five days a week, until they’ve completed 12 years of education. In addition, students are expected to complete schoolwork after the hours of school. This homework given to students is often viewed as an undesirable task. Students have the right to enjoy their leisure time after completing seven hours of brain draining school and not have to complete any more exhausting schoolwork. However, this is not the case. After enduring long hours at school, students are assigned homework every night and are expected to complete these tedious tasks by next class. Homework can take up to hours, sometimes even days to complete. It extracts all the energy from these fatigued students, leaving no energy left for physical exercise leading to the idea of unhealthy matters. In order to prove this, let the facts be told.…

School or sleep, which is more important? “Starting the school day too early is an issue, kids simply need to start at a reasonable hour so they can preform up to their potential.” (Rush) As Andre Rush has stated, starting school too early is a big problem. Kids need their sleep to be able to function and focus on the tasks set ahead for them on that day and the days to follow. Getting enough sleep isn’t only a mental problem, but it is also a physical and emotional problem.…

According to another reading I’ve found out that most students do curriculum activities once they get out of school which are usually probably from 5:00 pm to maybe 8:00. And when you get home at around 4:45 every day you only have about twenty minutes to get ready to leave out again. There just isn’t enough time of day to have school for eight hours then spend another hour or two doing homework.…

The biggest issue would be stress. 56 percent of students considered homework as a primary source of stress. Students do not always understand homework because it may not be understood well enough or explained well thoroughly. Homework can also be seen as a waste of time. We've got some students who'll work from 4 p.m. to 10 that night at a restaurant, then go home and try to get some homework done and get some sleep, and then they have to be at school by 7 in the morning. Kids should have less homework because they are using all of their time at home doing homework instead of doing something productive. The average student gets around 75% of homework each day. In class you do lots of non-stop work. Then you go home and do the same thing for 5 days. All that work could easily put you under pressure which makes you do your homework all wrong and you don't notice until you get to school. All that pressure could also fail you on a test. When you're trying to do your homework you're also studying for a test.…

As a student, I know how much work homework can be sometimes and how exhausting that it can be. That is why I think the first reason that giving homework should be forbidden is because homework is too much work for the kids to do and teachers to grade. First, it's too much work because you may get stuck on some of the problems, and you won't get a lot of help at home. Most parents do not understand and/or remember the level of work that you do and won't be able to help you figure it out. My older brother still has to ask for help sometimes from my dad but even he can't figure out what the answer is. Next, homework can be very confusing. Sometimes there might be a few problems you don't understand. You might even try again and again but no matter how hard you try, it is worded so strangely or there was a typo that throws the entire problem off. This stresses out the students who have to get the answer because if they don't they will get HPR. If you can't get the answer, you're not benefiting from the homework. Finally, sometimes there is just too much homework to ever comprehend with. Some kids go home start their homework and spend lots of time laboring over it. I can connect with them because it gets hard having homework in up to six subjects! I will never understand how the school systems don't see how it's too much work.…
