Argumentative Essay: Should Tax Students Drop Out
Though my opposition shares a valid point, about how taxpayers shouldn’t pay for people who might not take advantage of a free college I say that not everyone is the same. Yes, it is correct many students being the first year of college drop out because of poor decision making, but who’s to say that every student will flunk out due to this. Just as in high school at a certain age one is eligible to drop out. If taxpayers want to improve the wellbeing of society, the best option is to let everyone have the choice to better themselves. I understand that many people don’t like the fact that they will have to pay more than they already do, due to their financial situation, but we must sacrifice in order to let the upcoming generations lower the
poverty level. Almost everyone will be able to move up to middle class if this was to occur, and, of course, we can never really stop poverty, but we can make an effort to change it. I do agree that there should be consequences on the people who flunk out because of poor decision’s, but just as quoted by Haruki Murakami, “Everybody has to start somewhere. You have your whole future ahead of you. Perfection doesn't happen right away.”
