Argumentative Essay: Why Grace Should Email To Bill
Grace should not send that email to Bill because it would be inconvenient and troublesome for not only Grace, but Landon as well. This is because Landon had informed Grace that she was not supposed to contact the vice-president directly. Especially with the fact that it was about something that Landon specifically said that it was something they could speak about on a later date. “Every time Grace brought it up, Landon kept saying things such as “your time will come” and “good things come to those who wait.”” (Coffey, J., Kuron, L., & McGowan, R. to others like Landon and Bill, it questioned Landon’s leadership skills and his authority over Grace. Grace seems like the type of person who is overly confident in themselves and is not satisfied with simple, yet awarding tasks. She wants bigger and better things to make her life seem more worthy and special. These feelings are not in anyway wrong, but how Grace handles them, it makes her seem too impatient. By having these feelings, it also negatively affects Landon as her boss. Is his leadership approach too laid back? Does Landon need to become more strict and harsh towards his employees? Questions like these can run through Bill’s head as he questions not only Grace but also Landon as worker at his company. All in all, Grace should’ve never sent an email to Bill in the first place, she should have shown her own leadership skills by hard work and patience, rather than her ‘taking the reins herself’ approach, this could’ve guaranteed her a promotion much faster and might have even impressed Landon. Keeping in mind, that being a determined worker who shows strength and desire to become something better within a company is not bad, it was just ill timing and just made Grace come off as needy rather than determined. Therefore, Grace should not send yet another email to Bill if she would like to be promoted, because it will most likely backlash and affect her negatively and might also affect Landon and show him in a bad light to his boss and hopefully Landon will discuss promotions with her on a later date.
