Although they won’t lose their work, the yearbook staff will still be unable to use the district’s computers, thus hindering the completion of the yearbook, and even possibly ruining a school tradition that has spanned 22 years.
“Even if the yearbook company cut us a break, we would risk not getting the book back before school ended. That would essentially kill an important tradition at the school. Yearbook Day for seniors is one of the most beloved traditions at the school. Ten years ago when I came here, I asked the principal if I should eliminate that event, and he was floored that I would even ask.” Rodney Stephens (yearbook adviser) said.
For 22 years, Leaguetown High School has sponsored a senior yearbook signing party known as “Yearbook Day” which most seniors look forward to at the end of the year. All seniors will be allowed to leave class at noon to get their yearbooks and then attend the signing party. This event is something that many look forward to their entire senior year. For many going off to college the next year, the yearbook is a way to remember all of the good times they had during their high school
