“Now I live in a dream where I am holding your little hands I never got to meet you, my best friend” Ryan Key from the band Yellowcard had an abortion when he was younger and now regrets it more than ever. His song Ten hints at the fact that he regrets doing it and wishes he never did. It goes against the constitution, religious beliefs, human life, and more. Abortion is more wrong and selfish than people think. There are reasons why it is unethical such as it goes against the constitution. The 14th amendment states that “all men are created equal with certain unalienable rights. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” meaning no one should be deprived of their life. A lot of people believe there is no person at the point of conception but, there is. At that point there is a makeup of a unique genetic code which each and every one of us have. When you abort a fetus you are depriving it of life it will not have the liberty or the happiness as stated in the constitution and the fetus is unable to defend itself. If the mistake to have a child is made and the parent does not want it the best choice would be adoption not abortion. My best friend Lizzie was adopted and she is a great person so who knows what the child who is being aborted would be like. She is also still in touch with her biological mother and is close with her as well as her adoptive parents. It is also shown that 85% of women who have abortions report a negative mental health issue, as shown in the song ten it also causes the father to have regrets as well. An unborn baby is not a piece of trash and it should not be thrown away like it is. Save the child and the parents
