Arguments Against Nembutal
The topoi is based on the evidence that US prisoners have used Nembutal for lethal injections. Furthermore is fallacies of matter used in form of cherry picking: “We are very proud of Nembutal as we have seen great medical results for treating epilepsy.” This argument focuses on the good things that the company Lundbeck have achieved. Moreover is platitude seen: “Furthermore, the purpose of Nembutal has never been considered as a tool for euthanasia.” This is a foolproof argument because the Lundbeck case focuses on how the public is against the use of Nembutal in US prisons and thereby does this argument seem meaningless because nobody would disagree with it.
“We do not wish to withdraw our product since it is an important medical need.”
This is a miscellaneous fallacies, Tu quogue, because we argue that the medicine is too important to be withdrawn and if it should be taken out of the market it would be much worse than to keep it and regulate it as Lundbeck has planned.
