Racism is a set of views, sometimes combined with actions that reflect the belief that humanity and potentially society is divided into separate groups referred to as “races” and that certain groups possess traits that make them better or worse than others. (Ember) Some are seen as superior, and others inferior based solely on superficial markers that should mean very little in todays society. No one should discriminate and least of all on physical characteristics that are uncontrollable. So, in my opinion the term “Race” should be replaced with ethnicity because, racism will never entirely disappear while the way you look is at the forefront of the issue because that cannot change or be controlled, nor should it be.

By this definition, the problem appears to be with Ethnicity not race since ethnicity carries with it a person’s nationality, culture, traditions, and beliefs. (Ember) Regardless of whether or not it is right, you could argue that ethnicity is a valid reason to judge someone. It does not make it right, or acceptable but, at least when you’re discussing a person’s culture, traditions, and religion too, you could argue that it affects you. Since, appearance most certainly does not.
Race and ethnicity based discrimination have no place in our society but, it is simply illogical to dislike a person on the way they look when, at the very core only 6 percent of your genetics differ from each other. This is undeniable and should be made common knowledge in this society that likes to place so much importance on an unchangeable physical difference such as
