Schooling is also easier on base due to the grading rubric. To get an 80 meant you got a B and to get a 90 meant you got an A. The work wasn’t as complicated and actually we were a little behind the schools off base. I was going to Morehead Primary and in about 3rd grade was when I moved to Hawaii. We were already starting cursive when I left and when I got to Solomon Elementary in Hawaii it took months before we got to cursive and I was relearning stuff I already knew. Still that gave me and advantage and I got better grades. I left Hawaii and moved back halfway through fourth grade and that’s when I started having troubles because Morehead City Elementary, or Camp Glenn, was way ahead of me.
