The Inuit are the people who originally lived in the Artic. Perharps the best known Inuit way of life was one found in the Canadian Artic. It involved the people spending winters in temporary snowhouses communities out on the sea while hunting seals and whales as well as other species. They used all parts of the animals hunted for food, to make tools, build shelter and made clothing which were both warm and ideall suited for the climate and the activities of the people.Over time they developed a distinctive and complex adaptation to this region and these …show more content…
A metal Ulu ( knife): The Ulu knife is a unique item used in the Artic regions by the indigenous people, it is generally considered a Women's knife and was designed for processing food; ranging from fish, game, seals and whales; cleaning and filleting fish; skinning and fleshing hides; processing meat; and the making of clothing from skins 2. A modern map of the Artic: this modern map define the Artic regions by showing the treeline, the 10 degrees Celsius isotherm, and the Arctic Circle of the Northern Hemisphere 3. A painting of Cape Liddon, Devon Island: this painting illustrate the Artic landscape, such as the Cape Liddon, in Devon Island 4. A wooden doll of a hunting man: this wooden doll represent the Inuit as hunters gatherers who hunted sea mamals, seals, walrus as well as land animals like caribou in the Artic region 5. A piece of driftwood: The discovery of driftwood carried by rivers, or wind conditions was the only wood available and used by the Inuit population in the different regions of the
