Purpose of the course: This course is designed to introduce students to basic concepts in artificial intelligence and to explore artificial intelligence applications.
Expected learning outcomes of the course: At the end of the course the student should be able to: Understand the design and implementation of intelligent agents Understand basic principles and applications of artificial intelligence
Understand the basic areas of artificial intelligence including problem solving, knowledge representation, reasoning, decision making, planning, perception and action, and learning their applications.
Mode of delivery: Distance learning mode
Instructional materials and/or equipment: A computer installed with a software machine learning tools such as WEKA
Course assessment: Continuous assessment End of trimester examination 40% 60%
