c. Platelets are drawn to the injured endothelium where they release growth factors that cause abnormal proliferation of smooth muscle cells within the intima. The smooth muscles cells and macrophages then begin to release collagen and proteins, which are the components that form the fibrous aspect of atherosclerotic plaques.…
Routing is the methodology of selecting way or path in a system and also to send network traffic in this path or way and route is the way to send the system traffic. There are two types of routes. One is static routing and other…
Aspirin is a salicylate, also known as a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It is the generic name of acetylsalicylic acid and is used clinically to treat fever, pain and inflammation as it works by preventing the formation of prostaglandin. Prostaglandin is the active agent that is responsible for the sensitisation at the nerve endings. It can be administered orally, rectally or by intravenous route. (6)…
The understanding of the pathophysiology of many cardiovascular diseases is evolving rapidly, especially atherosclerosis, hypertension, myocardial, ischemia,…
There are four steps in caring for a heart attack. The first step is to immediately call 9-1-1, if a heart attack is suspected or if the victim's chest pain does not so away in a victim taking nitroglycerin. However, medications to dissolve a clot must be given early. Also, do not drive yourself or anyone else to the hospital. The second step is to monitor the victims breathing. If he/she becomes unresponsive and stops breathing begin CPR. The third step is to help the victim to get in the most comfortable resting position, usually sitting. Then loosen the clothing around the neck and waist. Also, be calm and reassuring. The fourth step is, if the victim is alert, and able to swallow and not allergic to aspirin, then help the victim take one adult aspirin (325mg) or two chew-able children's aspirins (81mg each). Also, pulverize or have the victim crunch them with his/her teeth before swallowing. Then find out if the victim is using nitroglycerin. Nitroglycerin tablets,…
AsprinUsed to relive minor aches and pains such as headaches. It can be also used to thin the blood to reduce the possibility of a blood clots, heart attacks and strokes. Aspirin use has been shown to increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding2…
I like your personal example. It shows that you have a better understanding of the content. I can relate to your example about your best friend and you about communication. I didn't speak English when I come to America and yet everyone was trying to make friend with me. I feel special because everyone was nice even though I'm from a different background and ethnicity. Anyways, great…
Serum TXB2was uniformly suppressed by 99% of baseline. Urinary 11-dehydro-TXB2, arachidonic acid-induced aggregation, and VerifyNow Aspirin (Accumetrics Inc., San Diego, California) showed stable, incomplete inhibition (65%, 80%, and 35%, respectively). Adenosine diphosphate- and collagen-induced aggregation was highly variable and poorly affected by aspirin, with an apparent time-dependent reversal. Inhibition of platelet cyclooxygenase activity was nonlinearly related to inhibition of platelet aggregation. Platelet function largely recovered by day 3 post-aspirin, independently of treatment duration. With any functional assay, occasionally "resistant" subjects were found to be "responders" on previous or subsequent determinations.…
The Junior Reserve Officer’s Training Corps as known as JROTC is a high school program managed under the military. The purpose of JROTC is to motivate young people to become better citizens. JROTC teaches students leadership roles, life-skills, discipline, and how to make good decisions. This program has a very large impact on students and their lives.…
Throughout my life, I have dedicated myself to act selflessly and always attempt to best represent my community. The Larner COM commitment to service aligns with my philanthropic views of healthcare. In my experience volunteering at a local homeless clinic, we ask each patient: “If you could not have come here, where would you have gone?” Many patients’ answer is nowhere. The involvement that students maintain in the local Community Health Center of Burlington provides an opportunity to work with populations similar to those I have assist in Colorado.…
Shirin Neshat, an Iranian women, was born on March 26, 1957 in a small city Qazvin, Iran. She is known for her work in film, video, and photography, and has devoted much of her work to issues concerning gender roles in post-revolutionary Islamic society. She embraced feminism at an early age, encouraged by her father, who insisted that his daughters have the same access as anyone else when it came to education, travel, and life experiences. At the age of seventeen, she was sent to the United States to complete her education. In 1979, the Islamic Revolution would prevent her from returning to her country of origin for twenty years. She attended the University of California and received a BA, then moved to New York, where she began working at the Storefront for art and Architecture. Even though Neshat had studied art in college, arriving in New York commenced a break from art-making until 1993, when she went back to Iran.…
College is much different from my high school in so many ways. In my high school we was always on the same routine. We had four periods a day and first period started at 7:45 and we was on a block schedule meaning our classes was an hour and thirty minutes long. We had the same classes everyday so more learning during the day and less homework. Immediately after school we had football practice four days a week and played on Fridays. High school Is a good preparation for college, even though while in high school you will never expect what happens in college. In high school your parents were more involved in what go on in your daily life, whether you get in trouble in class or you get sick at lunch.…
Platelet-activating factor (PAF), a biologically active phospholipid synthesized by a variety of stimulated cells, acts as a mediator of platelet aggregation, allergy, and inflammation. PAF is transformed to its biologically inactive lyso-PAF by the enzyme of PAF acetylhydrolase (PAF-AH). Furthermore, plasma PAF-AH has been related with atherosclerosis and may be a positive risk factor for coronary heart disease.…
Aspirin is used to treat pain for inflammation and work by blocking production of pain enhancing neurotransmitters, such as prostaglandins. Acetaminophen is also effective against pain. Aspirin acts locally at the site of the pain to stop it from producing pain signals. Aspirin can be good or bad by helping to prevent heart attacks.…
If a criminal has Antisocial Personality Disorder(ASPD), is she or he born to be a criminal, or is she or he raised to be one? Before discussing this question further, what is ASPD exactly? According the definition U.S. National Library of Medicine provided, ASPD is “a mental condition in which a person has a long-term pattern of manipulating, exploiting, or violating the rights of others” (Berger). People with ASPD often lack of empathy, ignore rules, and isolate themselves. They also have a tendency of breaking laws because they are not capable of concerning about their own or others’ safety.…
