The main character of The Fault in our Stars are Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters. Hazel is more an honest, smart and happy person. I think that she is honest because when she went to Amsterdam to her favorite author she straight up told him what is on her mind. She is smart because she is seventeen and she already is a college student. I think that she is a happy person because she enjoys life even though she has cancer and doesn’t have much longer to leave, I would consider Augustus Water a nice, sarcastic, and funny person. funny because he just has a funny personality and has really funny comments. There are more characters like Hazel's parents, Isaac, Peter Van Houten and his assistant. I wouldn't consider them main characters, though. This story is mainly about an anti-social seventeen-year-old teenager named Hazel Grace Lancaster who has cancer. She is a college student. Her mom wants her to meet new people so she sends her to a Support Group. There she is supposed to talk about her disease and she is also there to meet new people. One day she meets this handsome young man named Augustus Waters (Gus). She really likes him and they eventually start dating. Gus wants to give Hazel a gift so he organizes a trip to Amsterdam where her favorite author lives. His name is Peter Van Houten. Of course, she was so excited about it but wasn't sure if she was allowed to go because of her health conditions. Later she is allowed to go and enjoys the trip a lot. She loses her virginity to him. But not everything is so good about this trip because Hazel finds out that Gus has a deadly disease. When they fly back Hazel doesn't have that much time left with Gus so she tries to enjoy every second of it. Gus knows that he will die soon so he plans his own funeral. Sadly at the end of the story Augustus Waters dies. Everyone is really hurt by this situation.
I really enjoyed reading this book.
There were some situations that I would've changed. It bothered me that Augustus Waters died at the end of the story. I would've also chosen more places that the story could have taken place in. There should have been different places. I liked how Hazel's favorite author turned out to be a complete jerk. He seemed so nice and polite over the emails but once they traveled all that way to meet him he was a complete jerk. I have to admit I did cry while I was reading this book because at the ending of the book Gus died and I thought that was the saddest part of the whole book. I could say that I didn't want that to happen but then the book loses of interest. I would really recommend reading this book. It is a fabulous
book.
