AUTOMATIC SPROCKET
AUTOMATIC SPROCKET SIDE STAND RETRIEVAL

ABSTRACT: in modern developing world, automobile plays important role especially two-wheeler i.e. (motorcycle & bicycle) plays a major role. Even though they are helpful there are some sad events like accidents due to carelessness of riders. Major accidents occur due to forgetting of lifting the side stand. To rectify this problem many advance measure have taken, but they are useless. So as a by considering that it should be implemented practically in all types bikes the new system “AUTOMATIC SPROCKET SIDE STAND RETRIVE SYSTEM ’’this system can be attached in all types of two-wheeler (moped, geared, non-geared, hand geared bikes) and it is designed based on the working principle of bikes.
Since all bikes transmit power from engine to rear wheel by means of chain transmission system, we are going to affix extra gear to achieve this type of mechanism for safety.

General idea:
A small flat rod is attached and pivoted between the gear actuator lever and the side stand of the bike. When the gear is actuated the side stand gets lifted.
Small stepper motor is connected between the side stand and the engine, when the engine is started the stepper motor runs and retrieves the sides stand automatically.

CONSTRUCTION: The whole construction of this system is simple and efficient. The arrangement and position of components makes the system to function. Each and every component has its own property and responsibility. The power obtained from the chain drive is transmitted to the appropriate component without power loss. The systematic design of system is made in order to consume only very low amount of power initially for few seconds to retrieve the stand. Then the power consumption does not occur after retrieving the stand.

PARTS:
1. Pivot
2. Pushing lever
3. Axle
4. Sprocket (2 no’s – driver and pinion )
5. Rachet wheel
6. Lifting lever
7. Box clamp &

By joining together two or more gears of different sizes, both the speed and the torque are changed from the input gear to the output gear. The larger gear within a system will always move slower and have more torque than the smaller gear. Gear Ratio (GR) is a comparison between the driver gear, also called the input (connected to the power source), and the gear being driven, or the output. Below are four ways to determine the gear ratio in figure 1.…

Shaun White made history in the 2012 Winter X Games by being the first person ever to land a Front Side Double Cork 1260 in the half-pipe competition (Bane). In simpler terms, the professional snowboarder completed two corked, or slightly tilted, flips while also making three and a half rotations. Considering the trick’s great difficulty, White earned a perfect score of 100 for being the first to conquer the maneuver. In order for someone to land this trick, they must first understand how it works. The key to mastering elite tricks like the Double McTwist 1260, the Front Side Double Cork 1260, and the Triple Cork 1440 is to master the four basic steps of each trick: the takeoff, completing the spins, finding the landing, and landing.…

In Part A, a vehicle was created. The vehicle used gears and two wheel and axles. The gears turned as the front wheels rotated. The axles ran through the width of the vehicle, and the wheels connected to the axle on either side of the vehicle. Each wheel and axle was placed at different ends of the machine, however the vehicle has a short wheel base, since the vehicle is small. Each wheel had a tire for traction and smooth driving, and the vehicle moved one the wheels.…

The traction gear is a small, round metal wheel with notches in it to increase its grip on the lip of the can. When it and the cutting wheel are pressed tightly against opposite sides of the lip of the can, the pressure against the surface of the traction gear causes it to grip the surface of the metal can when you turn the crank.…

    Abolition of Slavery

Slavery in the United States first started in 1619, when African slaves were transported to Jamestown, a settlement in the colony in Virginia. These slaves were brought to the United States primarily to help with the making of crops, especially tobacco. The practice of slavery remained present throughout the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries in other colonies of the United States, which helped build and strengthen the American economy as a whole. In 1793, the cotton gin was invented, which triggered the immense importance of the practice of slavery towards the success of the economy in the southern parts of the United States. On the other hand, the northern parts of the United States experienced a rapid growth and dispersal of abolitionist laws and activities, which displayed a great amount of hatred towards the practice of slavery in the United States. The United States Congress made African slave trade or international slave trade illegal in 1808, but it did not hold back the practice of domestic slavery that was becoming even larger in the United States. The act of trading between the colonies in the United States flourished, and by 1860, the amount of slaves in the United States unfortunately tripled, and reached to four million. The expansion of pro-slavery beliefs in the western parts of the United States in addition to the increase in abolitionists in the northern parts of the United States soon caused a tremendous debate over slavery, which practically tore the United States apart.…

Cars or motorcycles need transmissions because of the physics of the gasoline engine. First of all any engine has a redline. A red line is the maximum rpm value above which the engine cannot go without blowing up and sending parts flying everywhere. Transmissions use gears and gear ratios to keep the engine running under its redline. Secondly, transmissions are needed in order to keep the engine in its maximum torque range. Without a transmission the engine would not be efficient at all, because it would never stay in the rpm range with the most power (Brain, n.d.). The whole philosophy behind shifting gears is to keep the engine in its best…

A landing gear safety switch, sometimes referred to as a squat switch, is usually mounted in a bracket on one of the main gear shock struts. When the strut is compressed by the weight of the airplane, the switch opens the electrical circuit to the motor or mechanism that powers retraction. In this way, if the landing gear switch in the cockpit is placed in the RETRACT position when weight is on the gear, the gear will remain extended, and the warning horn may sound as an alert to the unsafe condition. Once the weight is off the gear, however, such as on takeoff, the safety switch will release and the gear will retract. Many airplanes are equipped…

    Gear in Draw-Works.

    • 354 Words

Draw-works is the machine on the rig consisting of a large-diameter steel spool, brakes, a power source and assorted auxiliary devices. The primary function of the draw works is to reel out and reel in the drilling line, a large diameter wire rope, in a controlled fashion. The drilling line is reeled over the crown block and traveling block to gain mechanical advantage in a "block and tackle" or "pulley" fashion. This reeling out and in of the drilling line causes the traveling block, and whatever may be hanging underneath it, to be lowered into or raised out of the wellbore. A modern draw-works consists of five main parts: the drum, the motor(s), the reduction gear, the brake, and the auxiliary brake.…

Abstract—This paper offers motivations for an active suspension system which provides for both additional stability and maneuverability by performing active roll and pitch control during cornering and braking as well as eliminating road irregularities, hence increasing both vehicle and passenger safety and drive comfort. Various technologies are compared to the proposed electromagnetic suspension system which uses a tubular permanent magnet (PM) actuator together with a passive spring. Based upon on-road measurements and results from the literature, several specifications for the design of an electromagnetic suspension system are derived. The measured on-road movement of the passive suspension system is reproduced by electromagnetic actuation on a quarter car setup proving the dynamic capabilities of an electromagnetic suspension system. Keywords—Active Suspension; Permanent Magnet; Tubular Actuator…
