College students can and should enjoy alcohol without the stigma associated with it. The alternative option would be for colleges to focus on teaching students proper drinking manners, as opposed to banning alcohol outright. The problem is not alcohol on campus but people who are not mature enough to handle it. So rather than attempt in vain to hide the bottle, colleges need to educate their students on proper drinking. First example, Colleges may host parties of their own where students can freely drink and be under the close supervision of the college administrators. Second solution would be to have an open relationship with the local bars and pubs, get them involved in helping out around the school, making them a part of the college culture.…
Tiny Tots and Toddlers is a facility that cares for children during parent’s absence while at work. Having a drug free workplace is essential for everyone’s safety on the workforce. Prescription drugs are more readily available then ever today. Recently this corporation has considered implementing policies for a drug-free workplace and mandatory drug testing for new hires. Previous research has shown individuals employed in the United States have been impaired with prescription and illegal or illicit drug use (Frone, 2006). They are taken as stimulants by workers who are…
The policies help to safeguard children because the setting may have a policy that says that the children within their care cannot be collected by any person they are not familiar with unless the child's parent/guardien has given written consent saying who the person is and why they are picking the child up from the setting, this helps to safeguard children because it keeps the children safe from harm and prevents confidentiality being breached because if someone who wasn't the child's parent/guardian came to take the child from the setting and asked for any information about the child, without the consent from a parent/guardian they could then pass the information on the someone who isn't allowed to know anything about the child which could then put the child, setting or the family in danger.…
I love kids they are very fun to work with .it is our duty to make sure they are happy and safe.…
In an early years setting, it is essential that a practitioner supports the children’s play, learning and development because this will then enable certain learning goals to be achieved in relation to the early year’s foundation stage framework for development. These learning goals that the practitioner will help to support the children develop will have an overall effect on how they are able to learn and behave later in life. Also, by the practitioner helping to support each child, any disabilities (physical or mental) will be noticed and supported much earlier on in the child’s life which will make things easier for them as they will have a stronger support system put in place.…
When it comes down to choosing the best childcare option for your child, the first factor that most parents look at is: what that particular child needs. Now, there is nothing wrong with that, but there are a number of factors that needs to be considered prior to making that final choice. The decision of whether to send your child to a commercial daycare center or an in-home family childcare should depend on more than just the need of the child. Parents need to also consider environment, cost, certification, daily schedules, and provider to child ratios.…

For decades, nature versus nurture debate has been an ongoing argument among experts studying life span development. Those who believe that nature is the determining factor of development argue that genes determine an individual 's personality, attitudes, and behavior. The other side of the debate among experts is that nurture or experiences and environment have the most influence on development. Santrock states, "nature refers to an organism 's biological inheritance, nurture to its environmental experiences" (Santrock, 2007, p. 17). This paper will take the debate a little further by examining whether nature or nurture has more of an influence on children raised…

It is very important for adults who are responsible for children in there formative years to know this. Children are influenced by everything they see. Adults should also be aware of the years in which they have the skills able to identify and do what they see. Children do not all develop at the same rate; therefore, making it harder to identify this stage of life. Children are more influenced by people that they respect a lot, like parents, than they are by people they just know, babysitter.…
There are many ranges of legislation in the UK designed to keep our children safe. Firstly is the Children’s Act 1989 which was designed to promote safeguarding and well being, it requires the child to be involved in decisions regarding their life and that they are listened to and respected. This is followed by local authorities, parents, courts and other agencies, such as social workers to ensure the child’s wishes feelings and needs are met to their best capacity.…

There are many different kinds of diseases and health problems a person could have, whether it be external or internal. I have known friends whose children start out “normal” and “end up” diagnosing their child with ADHD, or Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. It is extremely hard for the child to focus on a simple task or simple command that needs to be done. I have a rudimentary knowledge of how to properly care for someone who has ADHD, not that they are not smart or impaired , but the child needs to learn how to adapt to certain surroundings in the home and in their social lives. Babysitting has been one of my main hobbies of interest since I was younger; in past experiences I have babysat some rather difficult children that have been diagnosed with ADHD. At first it is challenging but in the end it is rather rewarding to see them learn and accomplish that task or command they were told to do.…
