have grown to love. First of all, performing in and experiencing ball games is the best part of the band besides playing the music itself.
I could talk all day and everyday explaining why ball games are such enjoyment. To start with, it is a no brainer, marching and playing during halftime is the best part. I love having the lights shining on my face and all eyes set on me giving me their attention. I do not love constantly attempting to not fall on my face, of course, but in the end it is all one big, amazing rush nonetheless. Then next, playing in the stands and riling up the crowd even more while they watch the game. It is exceedingly enjoyable to get the crowd to respond to songs such as "Go Big Blue" and our cadence. It seriously adds to the excitement of the game. Last, there is the obvious, getting to hang out with my friends and have a good time makes the games better a 100%. I get to have fun with
my band friends and school friends all while enjoying the game. After all, ball games are amazing events to take part of especially us band kids. Second of all, marching in parades and exploiting our talents is definitely one of my top three things I love about the band. If people think watching the parades are fun, I wonder how much fun they would have actually taking part in one. To begin with, obviously everyone in the band is an entertainer and entertaining people with our marching and playing is what is so great about them. We entertain people with both our marching and playing, so we are fun to watch and to listen to! Then, all of the Christmas music we learn for the parades is fun to play. We perform such a wide variety of music, so we really enjoy Christmas time and all of the parade quite a lot. As well as the music, it is so groovy to see all the floats while being in the parade ourselves. We get to see all the attractions up close and at the same time we are one as well. All in all, parades are one the best things about the band by a long shot. Last, but not least, we as a band goes on annual, summer trips and by the end we are all insured to have a story to tell. Last summer we went to Charleston, South Carolina and that trip was one for the books! At first, we went to a Led Zepplin cover concert and the performer was the Black Jacket Symphony. I kid not, every one of us thought the concert was a band concert as in horns and percussion. We all ended up dressing in fancy clothes to go to a classic rock concert. Then next, we went on a ghost tour and the word awesome is an understatement. The stories were so creepy and chilled me to the core, but they were lots of fun to listen to. Towards the end, we went to Folly Beach! We absolutely had a fantastic time spending time at the beach. Lying on the hot sand, swimming in the ocean, and playing in the sand made for an amazing time that was well spent. As I have stated, the summer trips really end up being the cherry on top of a wonderful class named band. In conclusion, the band is one of the best classes offered by my school and to me it is the best class. Music is really important to help keep our school unique. Most people see it as something nerdy, but band comes with multiple benefits that most people would not expect. First benefit, we get to perform in ballgames and have the whole half time dedicated to us "band nerds." We get to enjoy the game and play at the same, which that leads up to have a good time. Second benefit, the band students perform in all of the Christmas parades and they are very enjoyable to take part in. People can listen to our music while watching the beautiful parade floats pass by. Just the thought of it makes me enthusiastic. Last, but certainly not the least benefit, us as a band go on summer trips every year. They are very fun to experience and, even better, we really get the chance to bond with each other. Band truly is an amazing class and I can thank my school for offering it. In the end, my school makes it unique and different by adding all of these special classes like the band.
