It would not be an understatement to say that most of the distractions while driving are caused by a cell phone being used. Drivers need to be aware of the consequences and damage they can make in just one second. Young people talk and text while driving, they feel invincible and think it’s okay to break on other many laws we have out there. Driving while using a cell phone could be considered as bad as driving under the influence. Driving while being distracted by a cell phone could end up on something to regret for the rest of your lives. “The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that in 2012 driver distraction was the cause of eighteen percent of all fatal crashes” (FCC, 2014). “The Virginia Tech Transportation Institute found that text messaging creates a crash risk twenty-three times worse that driving while not distracted” (FCC, 2014). It feels that the only way to prevent drivers from talking or texting while behind the wheel is to completely block access to a cell phone while the car is on.
