Abstract
Occupation valuation is the methodology of identifying and concluding details that incorporate occupational responsibilities and necessities for a specific occupation. More specifically, job analysis is the procedure of collecting data, inputting data and outputting conclusions that outline accountabilities for a specific occupation. Occupation valuations are piloted towards the occupation and not the individual. Even though, information may be obtained from personnel through interviews or surveys, the purpose of a job analysis is to describe or specify conditions of the occupation. It also empowers organizations to facilitate and endorse occupational aspects of employment, such as; recruitment, selection, employment, training, compensation and job performance appraisals (Blanchard & Thacker, 2013). Keywords: introduction, purpose statement, bartender occupation summary, analysis, conclusion

More specifically, occupation exploration is the procedure of accumulating information, inputting information and outputting suppositions that shape responsibilities for a specific occupation. Employment assessments are always conducted in the direction of the occupation and not the individual. However, interviewing or surveying the organization’s personnel may enhance the organization’s capacity to define, classify and incorporate conditions of employment. It also enables institutions to create and validate work-related aspects of employment, such as; recruitment, selection, employment, training, compensation and job performance appraisals (Blanchard & Thacker, 2013).
Purpose Statement The objective of this assignment is to outline job qualifications for a bartender position at Chilis Grill & Bar Restaurant. How bartenders must have the knowledge, skill and aptitude as a bartender to deliver quality service and hospitality to every guest as a way to retain their customer base.
Bartender Occupation Summary The main objective of the bartender position at Chilis Grill & Bar Restaurant is to interact with guests and ensure they have a great dining experience when at the restaurant. Bartenders are also accountable for positive guest interactions, where they are accurately mixing and serving beverages to guests and servers in a responsive and resourceful fashion. In addition, bartenders must always be attentive to guest necessities, making guests feel wanted, significant, content and peaceful. Potential bartenders should incorporate positive personality qualities, such as; energetic, compassionate, loyalty, honesty, dependable, ethical, team player, creative, independent, flexible, organized and ability to work under pressure.
Additional responsibilities of a Chilis’s Bartender may include:
Mix drinks and other bar beverages as ordered and in compliance with company standards.
Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
Handle an assigned house bank and follow all cash handling procedures.
Collect payment for drinks served and balance all receipts.
Ensure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for serving guest and mixing drinks.
Inventory supplies and fill out purchase requisitions to restock supplies.
Serve appetizers or food items to patrons seated at the bar where appropriate.
Exhibit a thorough knowledge of food, beverages, menus and promotions.
The bartender does not usually handle any complaints concerning service, food or drinks. However, the bartender is responsible for working with guests and ensuring customer satisfaction. If a bartender cannot resolve guest challenges, then the bartender must notify the manager on duty to resolve disputes.
Analysis
The reason one chose the bartender position at Chilis Grill & Bar Restaurant was due to more accessibility to their employees. My time is limited and trying to schedule a time, where one would have access to the movie theater and more specifically their bartender was not realistic. However, my timeframe was not the only motivation for choosing Chilis Grill & Bar Restaurant. At least once or twice a week, one is a guest at the restaurant picking up to-go orders or dining at the restaurant. The employees, especially the bartender is very attentive, friendly, courteous and makes the patron feel like part of the family. In my opinion, the bartenders always go above and beyond the call of duty to satisfy customers. This assignment is a perfect example of how the bartenders will take the time to help a college student complete their mission.
The bartender answered my questions in between trying to serve other patrons and attend to servers. As a part of completing this assignment, one employed observation and simple conversation to obtain information. Although, this task was time consuming and difficult at times due to the bartender tending to her occupational responsibilities; one feels the information obtained should aid in the completion of this assignment. If one had more time, one would visit other restaurants to compare the bartenders’ willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty, by assisting a college student complete their
mission.
Conclusion
Job analysis is an essential tool for organizations to classify and finalize occupational qualifications for specific employment opportunities. Organizations should accumulate information, input information and output judgments that outline occupational responsibilities for a particular job/task. However, conducting a job analysis should always encompass the position and not the individual. There are various avenues an organization may employ, but interviewing, observing and surveying current personnel is the best resolution for aligning the right personnel into the right occupation.
