Batman Hero

A Person, A Hero, A Life The movie Batman Begins, is about a hero named Batman, who saves Gotham City from The League of Shadows as they try to poison the city with a gas that causes panic. Batman, is a popular hero in todays culture, as he fights crime and saves people’s lives. Although this is a good example of a hero, this is not the only way a hero should be viewed. A hero doesn’t just save people's lives, a hero can also be someone who touches someone's life, and inspires them by their actions. A hero can be a father who is struggling to put food on the table for his family and pay the bills, but works two or three jobs, and inspires his son or daughter to work hard. A great example of a story like this, was written by Kathi Rose Vancouver. She says that her dad cared for the wounded during Iwo Jima. After the war he returned home, but struggled to find work. He had to work two to three jobs, for seven days a week, sometimes, to help his family get enough money. He was called out in the middle of the night to work, and would get very little sleep most nights. Even with all his hard work, he still would go to all his kids
John Wooden was a college basketball coach at UCLA, who was not only an outstanding coach who won ten national championships with UCLA, he was also a great role model. He taught his players life lessons like, “Be true to yourself. Make each day a masterpiece. Drink deeply from good books. Make friendship a fine art. Build a shelter against a rainy day’’ (Open Education). He also was known for being a wonderful father and helping players with problems bigger than basketball (Open Education).
