I feel a pull toward the younger generation that is possibly suffering in silence unable to comprehend what is going on in their minds. Some individuals go through life without ever knowing that they are not at fault for their distorted perception of the world or grow up thinking that it is their own fault that they are hearing or seeing things that are not there or cannot control their moods and personalities and are punished for something that is completely out of their control. My objective in becoming a psychiatrist in the future is to diagnose and develop additional forms of treatment for people suffering from mental illnesses with the hope that they will get a chance to live at their full potential with a clear vision. As I went deeper and deeper into the concept of the mind and its mental illnesses I not only gained knowledge of the subject but I also gained a stronger sense of sympathy, empathy, and open-mindedness. Now when I witness individuals who act differently than what would be classified as normal my mind does not automatically place them in a category of someone suffering from mental illness but I do remind myself that they could be or may have things going on in their lives that have affected them in negative ways and currently they cannot control themselves. They do not need to receive punishment or be made to feel ashamed of themselves what they do need is someone
