Becoming A Successful College Student
My academic records do an effective job of displaying the hard work and dedication I have put forth these past four years of high school. Attending such a competitive high school as Flower Mound, it can be difficult to standout from other students. I believe being in such an ambitious learning environment has only made me a stronger student by challenging me to always give my best efforts academically. I have learned to not let the numbers on my transcript, or my test scores, completely define me. Instead, I believe that making oneself a well-rounded student and person is what truly matters. One thing I believe my academic records fail to represent is my involvement in extracurricular activities and leadership positions. Transcripts don't illustrate countless hours of drill team practices, dance officer meetings outside of school, volunteering for National Honor Society, or tutoring students in physics. …show more content…
It is essential that students coming into college know how to manage time, and I believe my involvement in my school has made me a very responsible and well-rounded student, which, in turn, will make me a successful college student. I take immense pride in the fact that I have succeeded in balancing rigorous schoolwork with leadership roles and extracurricular activities. These demands leave students overstressed and with no time to themselves to relax or reflect.
