Becoming Medical Examiner

Becoming a Medical Examiner has a long process as does any career. Apart from schooling, residency, volunteering and common knowledge a medical examiner has to be well immersed in the medical field. Starting with college, one aspiring to be a Medical Examiner would need to have a Bachelor degree in Pathology, Chemistry and Physics along with getting their Medical Doctorate and have 3-4 years of residency in a government issued hospital. In total, a Medical Examiner would have to attend school for 13 years. Once one has completed their schooling they must pass 3 qualification tests and then ultimately find a job. A normal day on the job would consist of cleaning tools, bagging body parts, visiting the crime scene and documenting the things that they have discovered that day. After the autopsy has been performed the body must be stored. Whether the body is going straight to the family or if it is being cremated the body has to stay in storage until that time.
