Bed Of Roses Persuasive Speech
Sorry, I was tied up over the past few days with several soccer assignments every day. We are nearing the end of the season and it’s hectic.
So sad that you are going through hell, but most people have gone, or are going through a similar situation, especially with kids in their teens rebelling against parents. Four, five years down the line they will realize that life is not a bed of roses and will apologize for their misdeeds sooner or later. We had more or less similar situations with the third born (girl) and last born (boy). To make matters worse here in the US, you cannot discipline your child; the authorities will arrest you. Years later, they reformed and have become responsible individuals in their respective communities.

Once classified as bacteria in the domain prokaryotes that is until the analysis of archaea DNA showed that they are very much different from bacteria (Waggoner & Speer, 1994, para.1-2). Archaea are now known to have a different evolutionary history and may even be the closest living relatives to the first organisms on earth (Noel, n.d, para.3). Archaea are extremophiles meaning that they can exist under some of the harshest and most extreme conditions ranging from rift vents in deep sea with temperature over 100 degrees centigrade to extremely acidic or alkaline lakes to digestive track of animals (Waggoner & Speer, 1994, para.4). There are three main divisions of archaea the Crenarchaeota, Euryarchaeota and Koracrchaeota.…

By giving no leverage, there is no room for change and they will not take any pleas or bargains into consideration. Parents lay down the rules and they expect children to follow them without any question. With this type of parenting, when children try to challenge the rules, there is no debating or discussing the situation, it’s a strict “because I said so” answer. (Morin, n.d.) The way they discipline their children is very different from the other three types of parenting. Discipline is training one to obey the rules or doing something to correct the bad behavior. (Discipline, 2011) Strict parents like these believe that when they discipline their child, this means to punish them. Consequences are the results of an action that has been done. There are two types of consequences: Reinforcement and Punishment. Reinforcement encourages good behavior and helps to keep the lines of communication open between a parent and child. Punishments impose suffering which actually shifts the focus from the actual lesson that needs to be learned to “showing” who is in control. In punishment based parenting, few words of explanation are given by the parent. Children are often left confused and unsure of their behavior, and it is given out of anger or frustration. (Petrus,…

My parents had me later in their life and after having two children previously, had worked out what worked best with raising a child. I was never spanked or really punished because I did not misbehave until I was around 13. I can understand what the article is saying about how children are micromanaged and their parents step in at any instance to "save their child" from any issue. This is definitely something that has happened a lot with my parents, but it is a hard thing to criticize because my parents do it simply because they want the best for me and do not want me to have to struggle. It did come to the point where I had to tell my parents that I am becoming an adult and do not need them to micromanage or fix everything for…

When signing up to be an organ donor you usually think only your major organs will be used; however, something as small as a ligament of yours is used in popular surgeries such as anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstructions. When someone tears their ACL they usually have a choice to have an autograft, or use one of their own ligaments, but they can also choose to have an allograft, or take a cadaver’s ligament to repair it. Each has it’s advantages and disadvantages, but I personally think that the better option is the allograft because I think the advantages are better than using your own ligament from another part of your body. The advantages consist of faster operative time, less post-operative pain, and a faster recovery time.…

PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a psychiatric disorder that can occur following the experience or witnessing of life-threatening events such as the military combat, natural disasters, terrorism incidents, or any major tragedy. This is common in the life of veterans and is the leading cause of suicide among veterans. A VA patient who survived in Baghdad shares his experience with PTSD and explains how he knew he had this disability. Many veterans speak out about this issue and describe their continuous anger, alcohol addiction, and constantly wanted to fight. They usually feel very isolated and distant from their loved ones. One patient states, “PTSD involves rocketing into extreme states of stress re-activity; in the form of terror, rage, and uncontrollable impulses, and plunging into equally extreme states of being shut-down—exhaustion, emotional numbing, despair, and dissociation”. PTSD is about having fear and anxiety, allowing veterans to rage with anger and different emotion. There are many factors to PTSD, which affects others in different ways; or example, using video games to keep them occupied, spending money due to the lack of impulse control because of changes in their brain, and even not obtaining another job.…

Attention Getter: I would like to start my presentation off by telling you all to ask yourselves a series of fairly straight forward questions. I want you to take a look at you’re, any hand and ask your selves “Who’s hand is this?” Do the same with your other hand, and now both legs and your arms if you would like. If I am not mistaking the answer to all your questions are mine right. They are your hands, legs, and arms. What I am trying to get through to you all today is that your body is your body and that a person should be able to profit of his or her own body if done in a safe and controlled way.…

I believe the Australian government has forfeited humanity, for the race to win elections: based on the false belief that the Australian people have reduced their collective humanity. In my opinion our leaders assume they must create impoverished policies for the implementation of the “Migration Act 1958” to ensure re-election. I believe our leaders have allowed controversy and ignorance to overcome our humanity. We are urged into a time where we will retrospectively call an era of shame and disgrace.…
